Beach Lovers RV Trip

This route will take you along the coast to some of Southern California’s most popular and desired beaches. With short drives in between each destination, you’ll have more time for relaxing in the sun. Also, staying in these destinations will put you in close proximity to major metropolitan areas as well as other popular beaches you can take shorter day trips to.

Orange County

Waterfront RV Park: Everybody knows Huntington Beach is a great place to spend a few summer days. Nice pier, fun shops, campfire rings on the beach. Unfortunately, you can’t camp on the sand. Waterfront RV Park offers only asphalt camping, but hey, it’s across the street from the Pacific Ocean. You’ll be very close to other rigs, so if that’s a problem for you, look elsewhere. If not, cross the street to catch a wave, sink your toes in the sand or walk along the shoreline.

Sonoma

In Sonoma County, you can choose between camping on the coast or near the rolling vineyards. The Bodega Bay RV Park offers plenty of amenities and is just a short walk from parks and beaches. The Cloverdale Wine Country KOA Camping Resort is high in the hills overlooking Alexander Valley, making it a perfect home base for all your wine tasting excursions. There's also the Liberty Glen Campground at Lake Sonoma, a perfect spot for boating, swimming, hiking, and fishing.

Sierra

The Sierra Foothills located near Highway 49 for example, offer some of California’s most historic sites and beautiful scenery. Angels Camp is one such popular destination that RV campers can access year round. If you are not familiar with Highway 49, this particular drive is a winding two-lane highway popular for the old mining towns it travels through, and while the drive is scenic and historic, it does take patience to navigate an RV through Highway 49.
